Coup Save America invites two authors – Dan McCrory and William R. Douglas to talk about their polar-opposite political polarization novels. What could happen if a Republican president refused to concede the Whitehouse? What if left-wing extremists took hold of power and ran with it? Could our country survive the tyranny if either political party were to go hurtling off the rails? Our guest authors have explored the possibilities in their respective novels, and now, on the eve of a pivotal presidential election, they are both coming to Coup Save America for a three-way discussion with Sean about the potential problems posed in their books. With a cast of over-the-top characters placed into hair-raising situations, are these novels satire or a looming reality? You be the judge…

Dan McCrory
Dan McCrory has been a labor activist for 30+ years and a writer even longer. Capitalism Killed the Middle Class was a finalist in the UK’s Page Turner Awards. His novel You Will Forever Be My Always was a winner in the 2022 Los Angeles Book Festival. The book trailer has been viewed more than 81,000 times. His poetry appeared in the 2020 anthology of California’s Best Emerging Poets, and two of his screenplays have reached quarter finalist status in the NYC International Screenplay Awards. Dan chairs the book division of the National Writers Union. His next book will be Leonard Comes Home, a look at Leonard Peltier, the family man rather than the cold-blooded killer of two FBI agents for which he was wrongly convicted. President Biden will be considering clemency early next year. He is also publishing a satirical thriller, Worst Case Scenario: Election Night, in which Trump is re-elected under questionable results and declares martial law. Native Americans decide they want their country back. McCrory lives in Southern California with his wife, Terri and three fussy dogs.
William R. Douglas
William R. Douglas is an award-winning novelist whose debut novel, The Death and Resurrection of Baseball: Echoes from a Distant Past, was recognized by two book award contests: Readers' Favorite and the Independent Author Network.
His latest novel, The Sum of All Our Anger: Civil War 2.0, is a Speculative Fiction story set in 2061, a time when the nation's divisiveness and anger finally come to a boil after the inauguration of the first openly socialist President.
After obtaining a Journalism Degree in 1980, his career turned down the road of Information Technology, working for well-known companies: Mindscape Software, Moore Business Forms, EDS (Electronic Data Systems), IBM, Sears, Walgreens, DELL, and currently The Boeing Company.
In his career, he could still enjoy writing, whether it was technical documentation, websites, newsletters, or other material.
He lives an hour northwest of Chicago in the small town of McHenry, Illinois (population 27 thousand), with his wife Laurie and cat Peaches.
They enjoy spending time with 6 kids and 8 grandkids and are active in their local church.
